Kenneth Fire: New fire sparks in Calabasas area, prompting evacuations

A new fire sparked near the Calabasas area of Los Angeles County on Thursday, Cal Fire said.
The Kenneth Fire started around 3:16 p.m. on Victory Boulevard west of Gilmore Street in West Hills, spreading to Ventura County.
By 5:25 p.m., Cal Fire said the fire had already spread to 960 acres.
Evacuations were ordered in the Hidden Hills area, from Vanowen south to Burbank Boulevard and from County Oak Road east to East Valley Circle Boulevard.
During an evacuation order, there is an immediate threat to livelihood. It is mandatory to evacuate in this case...............

(461 posts)Where the fire started as there is a cave we would go to. It burned around 1980 but there wasn't a lot of heavy brush and there wasn't nearly as many homes around then as there is now. Very wealthy communities bordering it.
