Hegseth Interrupted by Protesters

Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseths opening statement was repeatedly interrupted by several protesters who were swiftly removed from the hearing room after disturbing his confirmation proceedings with shouts and cries.
At least three protesters were removed from the room by Capitol police, prompting Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) to angrily admonish the crowd.
You are a misogynist! You are a Christian Zionist, yelled out one elderly man before he was shuttled by police out of the room.

(2,397 posts)I didn't watch the video, just read the trusted news sources.
Dipsomaniac Hegseth reminded me of Ollie North for some reason, but I don't know why.

(225,920 posts)The Capitol Police were very nice, they don't like Pete Hegseth, either.
And, like Oliver North, Hegseth has issues with the truth and his allegiance to this country, he has no problem with TFG's criminal history and we know that Oliver North was complicit with Reagan - whose deal with the Iranians caused the defeat of my favorite president.

(2,397 posts)Glad the USCP didn't muss up your hair. I knew two USCP officers years ago, one uniformed, one an investigator. They were decent people.

(225,920 posts)And when did you write your obituary? Whenever you wrote it, it must have been pretty long. I have his autobiography, "A Full Life: Reflections at 90." I have it on disc, read by the author, and I've listened to it numerous times. He really led a fascinating life, and gives details, his early years on the farm, his experiences at Annapolis and his Navy career, his first run for office. I don't think he even got to his run for president to disc #5.

(225,920 posts)Begin was a little out of place because he as the only one there who didn't have a military background. But when they arrived at the somber memorial at Gettysburg, everyone was quiet, but then Menachem Begin started reciting the Gettysburg Address perfectly. It was a memorable moment and got to everyone who was there.
