The FBI conducted a court-authorized search at John Bolton’s home as part of a national security investigation, according to a person familiar with the matter.

FBI personnel were seen near Bolton’s home, CNN observed.

Reached by CNN, Bolton said he was unaware of the FBI activity and was looking into it further.

Au contraire! He has been in office for 8 months (as of yesterday). He already went through the "true blue Democrats", many of whom were pre-pardoned by Biden before he left office. He's already thrown javelins at Schiff and NY AG Letia James.

This is why he is moving onto the Shrub-wing. If Liz Cheney hadn't been given a pardon, she would have been FIRST before he hit Bolton, although I expect he'll get around to her and Kinzinger for other stuff soon enough. He is in the process of going after Comey and I expect Mueller may be on the list too (since he had attempted to go after a pre-pardoned Jack Smith already I but haven't heard any updates on that)!

Trump announced on Twitter that he had asked for Bolton's resignation on Monday night, saying he had "disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions."

“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning,” Trump said on Twitter.

The escalation has now reached new heights. NBC News reported:

The FBI raided former national security adviser John Bolton’s home in Bethesda, Maryland, on Friday as part of a ‘national security investigation in search of classified records,’ a source familiar with the matter confirmed to NBC News. ... In a post on X early Friday, FBI Director Kash Patel wrote, ‘NO ONE is above the law... @FBI agents on mission.’

.....What’s more, before Bolton’s book was released in 2020, Team Trump’s lawyers went to court in the hopes of derailing its publication. That effort failed and the book became a bestseller.

Three months later, Trump’s Justice Department opened a criminal investigation into whether Bolton disclosed classified information when he published his memoir. A former career official with the National Security Council later said in a court filing that Team Trump opened the criminal investigation into Bolton based on false pretenses......

That said, at face value, it’s nothing short of extraordinary to see the FBI, led by a hyperpartisan Trump loyalist, search the home of a prominent presidential critic — suspecting him of the same wrongdoing that led to one of Trump’s criminal indictments.
