NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) A federal judge in Norfolk granted a preliminary injunction Friday, in the case involving the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Project.
That ruling is a big win for Dominion Energy, which had been pushing back against the pause ordered by the White House. This allows Dominion Energy to resume work on the project.
This is one of five big offshore wind projects on the East Coast fighting back against the suspended leases by seeking a preliminary injunction.
Dominion Energy says the CVOW project will consist of 176 offshore wind energy turbines, which can generate a total of 2.6-gigawatts. Thats enough energy to power up to 660,000 homes.

(4,004 posts)According to Dominion, Trumps EO was costing the company $5M/day. Being that VA has a regulated market, VA rate payers are on the hook to pay whatever expense the utility gets.
Project was scheduled to start adding juice to the grid this year. Hopefully, the courts keep Trump's interference to a minimum at this crucial time.
