European leader spoke of shock at Trump's state of mind after Mar-a-Lago meeting
Source: Politico
BRUSSELS ― Slovakias prime minister told EU leaders at a summit last week that a meeting with Donald Trump left him shocked by the U.S. presidents state of mind, five European diplomats briefed on the conversation said.
Robert Fico, one of the few EU leaders to frequently support Trumps stance on Europes weaknesses, was concerned about the U.S. presidents psychological state, two of the diplomats said. Fico used the word dangerous to describe how the U.S. president came across during their face-to-face meeting at Trumps Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Jan. 17, according to two of the diplomats.
The conversation between Fico and his European counterparts took place in Brussels on Jan. 22 on the sidelines of an emergency EU summit arranged to discuss transatlantic relations in the wake of Trumps threats to seize Greenland. Leaders used that gathering to try to calm tensions after the U.S. president walked back his threat to slap tariffs on some European countries over the issue a day earlier.
The Slovak prime minister made his remarks in a separate informal huddle between some leaders and chief EU officials rather than during the formal roundtable talks, the diplomats said. While none of the diplomats who spoke to POLITICO were present, individual leaders briefed them separately on the content of the conversation shortly after it.

I might tune in just to watch the Sergeant at Arms throwing a net over a visibly unhinged Trump and dragging him away.

(5,504 posts)There are only two strategies:
1) Boycott, and hold a press conference trashing Trump's criminal acts.
2) Show up, and heckle him unmercifully every time he lies. Call him a child rapist. Call him a liar. Call him racist. Trump CANNOT handle that kind of situation and would melt down on live TV.
Unfortunately, our leaders are hidebound to custom and "collegiality".

(48,801 posts)Politicos description of a recent Trump interview:
Actual transcript of the interview as reported by People magazine:
"He had one problem," Trump, 79, said of his father in the interview. At a certain age, about 86, 87, he started getting, what do they call it?
Terris wrote that Trump then pointed to his head and turned to press secretary Karoline Leavitt to prompt him.
Alzheimers, Leavitt said.
Like an Alzheimers thing, Trump agreed. Well, I dont have it... I dont think about it at all. You know why? Because whatever it is, my attitude is whatever."

(546 posts)The fact that they don't try to stop him tells you they don't care about Trump or the country. They're all either being blackmailed or they're along for the grift, or both. That indicates that this will only get worse and even when they get Vance in the white house two in 4-6 months, they may not be dealing with Trump's family anymore but the same kleptocrats and blackmailes Russian assets will be directing US policy.
Trump let his father waste away at the Trump org while he was probably embezzling before he even got the rest of the money. The only thing he cared about. His family is like him now and the cabinet are being blackmailed, and people like Hasset and Navarro are along to profit off of insider knowledge like when trump is going to play tariff whack-a-mole. Miller is just a trusted NAZI.
