US dollar sinks to its lowest level in four years

Source: The Guardian/US

The US dollar has fallen to its lowest level in four years after Donald Trump brushed off concerns over the currency’s fall, sending investors fleeing to traditional havens including gold and the Swiss franc.

The dollar dropped by 1.3% against a basket of currencies after the president’s comments on Tuesday, marking its fourth day of declines, then slipped by a further 0.2% on Wednesday morning.

“No, I think it’s great,” Trump said of the weaker dollar, during a visit to Iowa to promote his record on the economy. Asked whether he was concerned about the currency’s slide, he told reporters: “I think the value of the dollar – look at the business we’re doing. The dollar’s doing great.”

The greenback has tumbled by 10% over the past year, while Tuesday’s fall was the largest one-day drop since last April, when Trump announced his sweeping tariff plans, marking a global market sell-off.

Her myopic viewpoint was more countries would buy American exports because they'd be more affordable than other countries.

Sure, that's true on one level.

But b/c of Trump, our country is being roundly boycotted b/c of the tariffs and world political shenanigans.

Affordable stuff, but nobody's buying.

I have posted 53 times over the past year that Krasnov only has one economic goal, to crash the dollar.

The dollar as the world's currency has never been at a greater threat than now. Krasnov and his billionaire cronies may want to play around with cyber-currency but the BRIC countries are trying to step in to replace the dollar. Those countries are working to create a basket currency to replace the dollar.

and then simply wipe out our debt.

People who think they have a safe investment in cash in their 401k's are in for a rude awakening.

Look at the bond market and look at the price of gold.

Why do you think that Krasnov wants control of the Fed? he wants to lower interest rates to zero which will crash the dollar.

With crypto and the money in the US Treasury that we pay in tariffs (there is video of him bragging about how tariffs make a lot of money for the Treasury)

And he's literally going to steal it all. He's already doing it. He's giving his buddies kickbacks for bribes from our tax money.

I've read too much about this already. I have to respectfully disagree with you.

But thanks for the reply, gab13by13. ❤️

Yeah, only IMPORTED goods, and there MIGHT be some inflationary impact??
So, the economy is doing great, unless you want to buy things.
