House Dem Urges Trump to Immediately Release 'Evidence of Foreign Influence' on Supreme Court

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, called on Donald Trump to put his money where his mouth is over his claims that the U.S. Supreme Court was being swayed by foreign influence.
Trump made the accusation during a White House press conference where he lambasted three conservative justices who ruled his sweeping tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act were illegal.
As a member of the Judiciary Committee @HouseJudiciary @JudiciaryGOP, if the President has evidence of foreign influence or intervention into our Supreme Court, he should release that immediately, Moskowitz posted to X. Trumps statement also seemed to surprise Fox News host Gillian Turner, who was in for Sandra Smith.
[Trump] did go a step beyond saying that he is disappointed in them, Turner said of Trumps heated denouncement of the justices who ruled against his chief foreign policy initiative. He said he believes the justices who voted against his tariff program are deeply under the thumb of foreign influence, Turner continued, before playing video of the president from earlier Friday.

Reporter: You mentioned multiple times foreign influence over the supreme court. Do you have evidence of that? And if not, will you investigate that?
Trump: Youre going to find out

(60,853 posts)Would they need a case that challenges some new Trump action.... like slandering the Supreme Court?

(59,063 posts)lets it slip and we can get rid of them!
But we'll need this fight to simmer for a while before we want that to happen.

(15,501 posts)I hope reporters keep asking him about this, and not just let it pass as more of his usual bullshit.
We're taking about historically shattering charges against a treasonous Supreme Court doing the bidding of foreign adversaries.
Those three "conservative" members of the court must be removed!!!

(15,501 posts)The question is why the SCrOTUS took so long. Maybe they saw his approval dip below 40%, and figured his power is waning.

(60,853 posts)The law as written in the Constitution. For almost everything, applying a century's old document to a world that has changed enormously will lead them to different opinions.
Alito was confirmed knowing he was outside the mainstream with his view of what the relative powers of the President should be. However, for the majority, the Constitution itself gives the Congress a role here.

(21,923 posts)He actually sound like a defeated, worn out old man, struggling at times to read the unfounded accusations put in front of him. Heated perhaps in what he read, but certainly not in how he communicated it. I actually watched the man for the first time in ages just to revel in his defeat. After one of the centers of his con was gutted, there's no fire, no energy, no impromptu monologue, just defeat. Just exhaustion. The husk of a worn out old man, trying to read what was put in front of him, interjecting occasional nonsense. For any human, I'd feel great empathy at the stark decline. Not for this bastard. May he die soon in terrible pain. Very, very soon.

(20,705 posts)It's a clever strategy.
He'll say someone lied about him and he's going to sue for defamation, or he'll claim he has a healthcare plan and we'll be seeing it soon. He has proof that protesters are paid by left wing traitors and it'll all come out in time.
None of that happens, but in the minds of people who don't follow the news daily the statements are all true. They don't know he didn't sue, or he didn't come up with a health plan, and he didn't have evidence of foreign influence in the Supreme Court. They believe he did all that but the MSM isn't publicizing it.
