The Trump administration wants a federal court of appeals to let its earlier ruling stand after putting a stop to a contempt inquiry into the treatment of several immigrants illegally sent to El Salvador.

That inquiry was initiated by a district court judge who has often frustrated President Donald Trump's immigration plans.

In mid-April, however, a divided panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit issued a ruling that stopped the investigation in its tracks by way of a mandamus order. That kiboshing came almost one year to the day after the lower court order that arguably set the controversy in motion – after the detainees filed petitions for the writ of habeas corpus and other forms of relief.

Earlier this month, the American Civil Liberties Union, representing the illegally deported immigrants, asked the full court to reconsider. Now, the U.S. Department of Justice has filed its opposition to the ACLU's petition for a hearing en banc, telling the judges they got the issues right the first time and, in stark terms, chiding the lower court over its continued efforts to investigate the executive branch.

DOJ and the acting AG constantly are breaking the law.

Deleting Epstein files and anything on the J6 and dropping convictions won’t work. We the People know and will never forget. This current government and Republican Party will go down in history as corrupt criminals.
