'Briefly unconscious': Sen. Mitch McConnell provides health update, photo from the hospital
Source: WLKY
After being hospitalized for nearly a month, Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell has provided an update on his health and a photo from the hospital.
Sunday evening, a statement from the senator and his attending physician was released.
McConnell reveals that he fell at home and was briefly unconscious, leading to his hospitalization. While in the hospital, he also developed a case of pneumonia.
My doctors have confirmed that I didnt break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didnt have a heart attack or a stroke. I dont have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital."

(12,668 posts)He had a minor fall in his home?
So he spent a month in the hospital and is being released to a rehab center, for a "minor fall" that lead to no significant injuries and he has no other comorbidities to warrant a significant hospital stay?
Sorry, I've got a lot of family in the medical field and I know enough to know that isn't how the modern medical system works, even for rich senators.

(12,668 posts)But that isn't in the release and that messaging is clearly trying to convey he is health and normal but that doesn't jive with reality of being in the hospital for over a month.

(99,296 posts)Kinda like they do with kidnap victims to prove they are alive.
Kinda funny they pose it this way; seems they are trying too hard to prove that he is.
Just makes me wonder if he really is still kicking.

He built it, he owns it and I don't have one ounce of empathy for a man that has spent decades harming America and her people.

(5,068 posts)Yes, I notice that reputable news sources are tending to agree that its legit.
we know it isnt AI or photo shopped. Also, if someone is in the hospital that long at his age, rehab is many weeks. I experienced this with my mom. Another thing, I thought I heard a 911 call in a clip on tv that mentioned they were doing CPR on him. The only reason to do that is he quit breathing.
LeftInTX
(35,272 posts)All you could see were his feet from the video. The video quality wasn't the best. Everyone said it was because he was dead.
CPR = dead
No CPR = so dead, they can't do anything
I guess everyone just really wanted him dead.
I figured he wasn't, because deaths are public record.
Lots of clicks and baits = $$$$ were earned over his "death". Meidas Touch etc.....
That's the only thing I can think of. Also, Democrats would like a Democrat appointed, but at this point, it doesn't look that way.
Beshear can't appoint without proof of death or resigination.

The 2026 Statement: McConnell broke nearly a month of silence following his June 14, 2026, hospitalization with a statement released via NewsNation
Photo Origins: Social media sleuths quickly pointed out that the smiling photo of McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao, is identical to the picture originally circulated in March 2023 following a severe fall and concussion, as noted on Facebook. The Newspaper
Detail: While the 2023 hospital photo was reused, the newspaper McConnell is holding in his hand appears to have been digitally updated to a current edition (such as a recent Washington Post sports section) to act as a "proof of life," according to New York Magazine.Continued Scrutiny: The reuse of this photographcombined with his wife's recent trip to Chinahas fueled intense internet speculation regarding the transparency and actual status of the senator's health, as reported by The Daily Beast.

2023 photo of McConnell and Elaine Chao. The first photo that came up was the one others in the comments have posted. (Clearly, theyre much better techies than I.)
If you copy that one and todays and post them one above the other, the similarities are too great to miss. Same smile, same expression, same posture, same clothes. Theres no doubt. People here have ruled out AI, but there are other technologies (Photoshop?) that could take out chaises, palm trees and tropical drinks and replace them with a hospital bed. Thats especially true when you consider that the equipment and expertise available to staffers and others at that level of the federal government must be top-notch.
EDIT
Heres the Imgur link to the two photos next to each other, at least one atop the other.

(221 posts)When you look at his shirt, the light and shadow are exactly the same. Some of it you cant see because they moved the arms, but its the same. Every time you move the folds on your shirt will change as will the shadows. Its the same photo. Point number two, thats not hospital clothing.
Wonder Why

(8,425 posts)Wife had a fall in the backyard, at 82 years old, she couldn't get up by herself and cried with pain when I tried to help her.
Thought she had broken something.
Called an ambo, the two helped her up and brought her inside, then monitored her vitals.
Then left.
No transport to the hospital for a 1 month stay of tests and observation.
Got the bill later.
Mitch either got the royal treatment or something is up.
Hopefully he gets the hint and stays home from now on.
Wifey can be sweet to him and baby him, like feed him chicken soup on the hour.
