A debm55 appreciation thread

I have been seeking out inspirational quotes and sayings to help with my struggling emotions following my heart cath.
"The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra." - Jimmy Johnson
I thought of you when I read this as you have been extraordinary not just with me, but with your daily engagements of all of us with questions, jokes or statements designed to make us remember, reflect, laugh and most importantly, stay engaged ourselves.
I used to wonder why you did that every day, I came to my answer gradually. You are the family treasurer, not $$ but real treasures that you keep alive in each of us.
So thank you for your gifts that are often disguised miracles for your "Family".

I too have a special needs child, but I didn't have a choice because he was my biological child. I don’t know that I would have been brave enough to adopt someone like him. That takes courage and a special big heart.

Of my childhood. Lived in fear and a constant hypersensitive state to stay ahead of the abuse.
I love that you teach, as I'm certain you helped those you recognized from afar both professionally and with the personal touch of affirmation, support and encouragement.
I'm still dealing with even identifying that which seemed so normal at the time.
Posting is incredibly therapeutic when I let my heart lead.

I've been here for 20 years, but I don't post much. Rarely do I join in in the lounge, because it feels very much like family there. I feel like a fourth cousin who is unknown to most.

But debm55's posts are so welcoming, that I never feel out of place. And she always replies to me. Always. It means a lot.
