Folk vs Pop.
What constitutes Jazz over other music….

It all blends together for me.
So I Googled Soul music and the first song listed was luckily a choice for me.
Being from Madison WI and all….

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Ottis Redding

and What's Going On? are definitely in my top five. Having grown up in Detroit in the 60s, I'm all about Motown; it's still my favorite. And don't get me started on how much I LOVE Smokey Robinson!

You mention Superstition. What a great song. Many years ago, when that song came out, I was a waitress and I had a big crush on a dishwasher. He was so cute. He absolutely loved that song. We hung out, but nothing ever came of it. To this day, whenever I hear Superstition, I still think of him and smile.
