She was gorgeous! And what a voice!

Some pretty mean-spirited people got on her case when she put on some weight. But I thought she looked curvy and alluring.

I recently downloaded her cover of “Forever Young” by Alphaville, a mournful song about mortality and the fear of nuclear annihilation. Usually, Branigan’s powerhouse voice could blow the doors off of brick buildings. But here, her vocals are fragile and plaintive, in keeping with the sorrowful subject of the lyrics.

We lost a superb performer when she died so young.

The coming four years are going to be pure hell.

But yes, she could belt out a song. I wonder why I've completely forgotten about her?
