News item from December of 2025:

AP Bumfuck, AR: Zookeepers at the Bumfuck City Zoo are concerned that its leopards, Spot and Deff, have inexplicably gained weight - a lot of it. Spot is not pregnant, and both she and her mate Deff are sporting ample bellies and display an uncatlike waddle whenever they move at all. Small weight gains were first noticed last Spring, but their girth increased to the point where the animals are barely able to turn over in their dens. Their daily rations of meat and supplements had not changed, and the cats are otherwise healthy, apart from some back strain. The zoo's other big cats, three lions and a tiger, have remained svelte. Zoos all over the country have reported their leopards' unexplained weight gains as well. Several veterinary schools have announced courses and studies relating to the treatment of obesity in leopards.

In other news, Bumfuck Hospital has reported a steady stream of admissions of patients with serious facial injuries.
