Interesting reactions from other countries about US culture during the recent Tik Tok ban

If you have and are still using a Tik Tok account, search “Now that the Americans are gone” or “have gone” or similar phrasing to see a whole slew of videos made by people in other countries who are commenting about American culture, eccentricities, obnoxiousness and things about us that make them laugh or think or change their behavior in our presence. Some of these are very funny and some are very educational and interesting. Not many are discussing the politics of the ban so fear not if you wish to avoid political topics.

For example, one woman sought feedback from others about what they dislike about the US while she was drinking a beverage from a KFC cup. Another one commented on how quiet it was without Americans. One remarked they can start using the metric system again. A Canadian video I saw talked about their desire to take over TikTok content. The only political one I have seen thus far is one where a user thought it was weird that Americans buy merch of their president.

Learning about other cultures is always interesting especially when it is lighthearted and/or very revealing as is the case in most of these videos.

This post was not intended to be about politics so I posted it in The DU Lounge; but if the mods/admins feel it should be over in General Discussion due to the political nature of discussions of that app nowadays, please let me know and I will delete and repost.
