(10,761 posts)He's on a train that Claudia is on. She ran away, and he went after her. He gets to the luggage car she's hiding in and drains the porter on the way in. He is so damn campy and steps inside the door to the luggage car with the porter's head in his hand and says: "Oh, CLAUDIA!" and then tosses the porter's head up on one of the shelves.
IT CRACKS ME THE FUCK UP. Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I've watched that scene repeatedly.
Later, the conversation in the car is with Lestat, a dog in a crate in the luggage car with them, who Lestat briefly lets out to lick the porter's blood off of Lestat's hands. Lestat speaks to the dog, but the camera focuses on Claudia as Lestat says, "Get back in your cage now."
The entire scene is beautifully done, campy as shit, somehow funny (to my sick mind) and filmed perfectly.
I adore this version of Interview with the Vampire.
The one with Tom Cruise and that another whatshisname was a bore. Other film versions I've seen were bland as well. But this onethe writing is superb, and the sets, acting, and filming are masterful.

(10,761 posts)It veers from the book somewhat too. But its REALLY well-done, IMO. Its on AMC.

(2,364 posts)that is so outrageously politically incorrect that you have to laugh, kind of like Blazing Saddles, and not worry about the fact that it is fucking hilarious.
It's called the Ritz. It has tons of good actors in it but Rita Moreno is extraordinarily funny as Googie Gomez. She is over the top and spot on.

(262 posts)I believe the sketch is from their movie And Now for Something Completely Different. Actually, there are two sketches. The sketch is of a man in the room trying to write a joke. He comes up with one and dies of laughter. His mother or wife comes into the room and is shocked to see him dead. She looks at what he wrote and dies of laughter. Soon, the police have cordoned off the home and try to isolate the joke. The British Army breaks the joke down into single words and translates it to German. British troops are running toward Nazi troops each saying their word and the Germans begin laughing their heads off and dying.

MASH
Hawkeye, ribbing Frank, later Charles. The time Hawkeye jumped on the mess hall table to demand was it ?better food. Klinger and his shenanigans.
So much more!
Lou Grant (The Newspaper Show)
This scene is personal to me.
The production team doing old fashion paste ups, and mechanical goes on strike.
So Lou, and his staff have to do them instead. They sit on these high stools, working on these slanted desk tops, where the newspaper's thick paper "boards" are put to add the headlines, subs, text, ads, and indicator places for photos to be dropped in later at the printers.
Copy is generally parsed out space wise but never completely accurate. Thus the editor comes in, and directs - cut and paste editing; sentences, a word or two. Like all the way down to "commas", and "periods " as the tiniest adjustments! They on TV, and I in real life weld an exacto knife precisely!
While not remembering the exact name I will make one up...
One of Lou's associates drops a word on the floor. He's bending over on the stool looking for it, maaaaybe has to get down on the floor...
"I've lost The Queen of England", he announces. Baaaahahahaaaaa!
