(3,903 posts)I can't do a single one of those.
In fact, I can only wink my right eye, not my left eye.
And I can only do the Vulcan salute with my left hand, not my right one.
I have to conclude I am very limited comparatively.
Can you do both eyes and both ears?
Ocelot II
(122,388 posts)but I can cross and wink both eyes as well as alternately crossing the left and right ones. I can do the Vulcan salute with both hands, though I seldom have occasion to do it.

(155 posts)but I used to do the Russian dance with squats and legs thrust out. I can't recall the name or how I first started this. But it was my thing in my younger years.
debm55
(40,933 posts)and we learned the dances. Mostly the dance you described was done by the guys. Women in the church would make costumes for us and flowered hair dressing. You brought back a great memory for me. TY I forgot to add that at one time the Ukranian was part of Russia. You must be very strong as I could not do it.
ballardgirl
(155 posts)helped me. I don't remember why I did this as I know it was a dance for the men. There is no way I could do it now.

(7,214 posts)Do you have an underbite or cross bite? I have a cross bite now. I had an underbite as a kid that was corrected with braces. I always thought that was the reason I could do this.

(11,421 posts)Not literally, of course. But, when at a party, or in a room full of people, I have the ability to put out a "vibe force field" which will prevent anyone from noticing me or attempting to start a conversation with me.
I also have a pretty high pain threshold. I learned how to disassociate from physical pain when I got a tooth drilled and filled without anesthesia at 8 years old.

I'm also known as the finder. If it is lost in the house somewhere, I will find it. My mom used to call me when I was away at FSU to tell her where things were in her house down in Ft.Myers.
I have precognitive dreams and have seen and intrracted with a ghostly apparition.

(40,933 posts)I shouldnt admit this, but I can swallow a lot of air, and let loose a horrendous belch on demand. I can clear out an entire buffet in no time. Of course, I havent done it in decades, but just tried it to make sure the magics still there.

(11,411 posts)That's apparently a genetic ability. I can also wink my eyes alternately in rapid succession. I used to be able to bend just the end joints of all my fingers, but as I've gotten more and more arthritis in my hands I can only do that on my right hand now.
Incidentally, my husband can't do any of the above.

They told me I didn't need it because upon testing they found I already read pretty fast. But I had to take it to get off academic probation.

(35,006 posts)One can read what I write only by holding it up to a mirror. (The handwriting is less than great but is legible.)
I thought everyone could do this, but have since learned (from a neuroscientist I met in a bar where i was demonstrating this "skill" ) that only a small subset of people can do this. As I am a genotypic but not a phenotypic carrier of dyslexic genes, and I assume, without any real knowledge, this is the origin of this dubious skill.
Apparently Leonardo Da Vinci also had this ability.

debm55
(40,933 posts)Strong to throw a Sousaphone 15 yards. May I ask==why did you do that?
Basso8vb
(611 posts)As for the Sousaphone toss, way back in the early 90s, my college marching band got new tubas, so naturally I wanted to see how far I could chuck my old broken horn.
I was spinning like a hammer thrower and let it go....about 15 yards to my astonishment.
You should have seen the one they dropped from a 15 storey building, though!

(215 posts)I can actually make a pig noise that sounds real. On our honeymoon we were at a B&B in Vermont. They had a pig in a small corral and I made my noise. He came running out of his little house so excited that he thought he had a friend.
I can also make the noise exactly like the Jetson's car.

(49,759 posts)Started with left-hand dominance. But it scared my kindergarten teacher. So she and my mother conspired to make me right-handed. But I never completely gave up my left hand.
I discovered that I could write/print with my left hand, sometimes better than the products from my right hand. And I could also write backwards very nicely with my left hand, like da Vinci.
After age 45, I considered, what the Hell, take back your left hand. And so I have. I opt for the left railing on stairs both ascending and descending. I eat with my left hand. I even use the left-hand program on the screen when I'm a cashier. I am a born-again Leftie.
