(5,819 posts)but it slipped my mind until you mentioned it.
I'd have joined here earlier but the 'forum' format confounded me. I didn't get on here until I discovered the chronological 'Latest Threads' feature that let me keep up with things all on one page.

When I visit family in Canada I score some to bring home as well, but I can't do this too often--travel from Hawaii is expensive.

As a kid, I really liked the Mexican milk candy (leche quemada)
Nowadays, payday bar really satisfies the sweet/salty craving

(35,632 posts)Are the Robins eggs they sell only at Easter. They have to be Brachs. No Whoppers. When I was a kid I ate those out of my Easter basket first. They didnt last past the afternoon. I still love them.

(7,214 posts)Funny story, well, to me. As a child before I could read, I had a heath bar. I guess someone gave it to me. After that when I would go to the store for a candy bar, I didn't know the name but looked for a similar package. I went through several candy bars until finally one day I found it! The elusive Heath bar! The clouds parted. The sun shone!! I found my favorite candy bar!!

(12,285 posts)I've never heard of a Maple Bun Bar! Is it a local thing?
KitFox
(154 posts)anywhere for years. They were a maple cream filling with pecans and covered in chocolate. They were a flat round shape. The packaging was in a sack shape with a covered wagon on the cover. Now my favorite is Payday or
Chick-O-Stick. Thanks for all the fun ideas for posts!! 😊

(530 posts)If I could only have one, it would be a nice Plain Jane Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar. There are so many good ones today. Another one that is close to the top of the heap is Snickers Peanut Butter. My Wife's favorite is a Regular Snickers.

(3,962 posts)The grown ups, thought I was allergic. They tried to substitute licorice. I spit out and nearly barfed all over for that stunt.
At any rate, once I was old enough to walk to the corner store, I got Butterfingers, Chunkies with fruit and nuts in them, Skybars, and Junior Mints. In liked all them.
A candy bar cost 5 cents, then kept going up, in price to a dime and beyond.
