but especially Carson..He was just so much a part of the culture.. I recall a political cartoon appearing around the time he left The Tonight Show..It showed a distraught, weeping Lady Liberty, her arms outstretched, wailing "Johnny Don't Go"!!

It was, of course, a tongue in cheek bit of humor, but like all jokes, it contained that measure of truth...Loved him.
