I've lost track of just how many times I've seen it since it came out in 1971 (I was in college at the time). Outrageously good movie, shot in grimy New York City. First-rate acting, direction; even the unorthodox music score works beautifully. Crime dramas just don't get much better than this one. Kudos to all involved; special shout-out to Gene Hackman, who's still with us at age 94.
