I get most of the solicitation calls on this line. I just ask to talk to their supervisor because I want to file a complaint. These assholes hang up very quickly

5. The best thing to do is...

either hangup immediately or tell them you're on the Do Not Call list and never to call this number again. These two actions will almost guarantee they won't call you again and it will reduce the chance another telemarketer will do so in the future. Telemarketers but lists of names and/or phone numbers and then make robocalls hoping someone will answer the phone. By hangup or telling them not to call again they mark on their list a negative response. They'll also sell their list to other telemarketers the names/phone numbers of those who did answer.
