Two shots to get the party started. Now a Manhattan, my favorite cocktail. Its my nickname, too. Given to me by the referral coordinator at my old job. Coolest nickname Ive ever had.
Tonights variation is a Perfect Manhattan. A classic Manhattan has 3/4 of an ounce of sweet vermouth. A Perfect Manhattan has 1/2 an ounce each of sweet and dry vermouth.
Time to start the weekend.
I love you all

There is no greater pleasure during the ascendancy of the smug rich bastards than outliving them.

(122,207 posts)How was your first full week on the new job?
My new employer uses the same electronic health records software as my old employer. I tested out of half the orientation classes for the software.
The remaining classes were easy. The schedule is clear: when your work is done, go home. So Im easing in nicely. One more week, and I start seeing patients again.

(69,145 posts)At my most recent employer, I didnt have my own office, so my desk stuff just sat in a crate out in the garage for a year.
Its nice to have my own place again.
Looking forward to settling into my old routine again. Going in early before the clinic opens. Enjoying the quiet, reviewing charts, looking over the days schedule, drinking coffee, surfing the net. The moments of Zen that keep a stressful occupation rewarding.

Things are looking good

(26,194 posts)I only like the first 3 (episodes 4, 5 and 6).
During my first Air Force assignment, those of us working in the base pediatric clinic were allowed a little leeway in our uniforms because of working with kids - colored lab coats, pins on our lab coat lapels, posters in our exam rooms, and decorations on our stethoscopes.
I had a Star Trek science officer patch on the lapel of a blue lab coat. I'd purchased it at a fun little memorabilia shop in San Antonio aptly named Star Base 1. I was in a hospital elevator one time, and was asked what sort of military decoration it was. I explained it was not anything official, but was a Star Trek thing. I was then asked where I'd gotten it, and, without thinking how odd it was going to sound, replied "Star Base 1."
The quizzical look on the questioner's face was something to behold. They probably thought I should be on my way to the psych ward.

(69,145 posts)We haven't really had a chance to talk yet. But he has Star Wars posters on the wall over his desk. He seems to like Boba Fett and Yoda the best among the characters.
I set up an image from "The Mandalorian" on my computer desktop. If he notices it, we'll probably end of having a discussion about SW.
