My late, great husband didn't go as far as roasting his own coffee beans, but he did grind the beans then use a french press and I've done it that way even 10 years after he's been gone. Oh, and it's almost always Kona Peaberry.

* When making a sandwich, stretch the filling out to the edges so the first bite isn't just bread.

* Learned on my own, treat partner at least as good as the dog or better.

I was very high-strung, getting extremely upset over the littlest things. He has helped me to see that not everything is worth having a mini breakdown over. He's very even-tempered.

Here are just a few of many: drive the tractor, hook up the travel trailer, use power tools, sharpen knives, raise chickens. He was a wonderful husband—an incredible human being. In 3 weeks it will be eight years since I lost him. I miss him every day. We had a joyous life together. Because of how deeply he believed in and loved me, I have managed to live independently pretty darn well. Thank you for posting this as a reminder of how much he taught me!

I frantically run in and out as fast as I can to avoid catching a life-threatening disease.
