Animation fans, a movie or show you really enjoy that isn't a "normal" animation?

By "normal," I mean from a big studio, major league advertised?

Here's one I really liked.
(Yes, I have the DVD.)

Great voices, terrific soundtrack, good animation.

1986 Transformers movie.

Le Planete Sauvage is the original title.

To call it weird and surreal would be an understatement. But it makes use of storytelling techniques that were common in the 1970's when risk-taking in film was much more common. It probably couldn't get made today. At least not while still being recognizable in its current form.

I finally got the DVD about seven or eight years ago. It really captures the imagination. It’s just a landmark in visual storytelling.
