Our landmine gets about 5 bs calls per day. Yesterday, it wakes me up to some guy with a foreign accent leaving a garbled undiscernable message, spelling out what sounded like the word drooling. The number I was supposed to call was clear.
Is this some new tactic.? Leave garbled messages making ppl curious or worried they have to call back bc they might miss something important? I played the message back and still cannot make out the message. This pisses me off I'm on the dnc list and its pointless.

(3,220 posts)when they say who they are, so it's indiscernible. It was weird so I hung up. I thought.... well, that's new. sigh

(3,093 posts)They want to know if I'll be home to receive it. I ask where they're from and it's either "Medicare shipping" or "Pain Management". I say there's no such thing, you're a fraud, hang up, and block the number.
Now I don't bother answering, just block the number. The calls are all from one or two exchanges.

(6,639 posts)After years of scam baiting, I have a huge bag of tricks to drive them nuts while keeping their hope alive. I very rarely get those calls anymore, but sometimes I miss putting them through the wringer for the lulz. It's also a great way to get your number removed from their list... they never call me back when I'm done with them!
