I tried to fill my gas tank this morning but couldn't get the fuel door open. I pulled out the book and looked for help but nada. So I went to the dealer who knew immediately what to do. In the trunk there is a green wire that unlocks the fuel door. Why wasn't that in the book??? Anyway, just in case this happens to anyone else. The fix is easy.
On edit: typo fixed!

Were your doors locked? Maybe spray a little silicon spray in the locking mechanism

(12,370 posts)1. That's only for your make model and year
Won't work for just any vehicle
Maybe there is a manual release for other models though. At least I know how to open my fuel door now.

We've had some cold (for us) days lately - I think it might be weather related.

Mine had a panel you'd just flip open.
