The script in particular is outstanding.

(10,066 posts)2. One of the best movies ever made!
Anthony Hopkins as Richard t he Lioinheart. Timothy Dalton as Philip, the 17-year-old king of France. The acting is great beyond any description. Peter O'Toole also played Henry II in "Becket."

(467 posts)4. Stayed up to watch and got to see one of my favorite scenes:
Henry and Eleanor talking about their sons working together to plot against Henry for his throne:
Henry II:
The day those stout hearts band together is the day that pigs get wings.
Eleanor of Aquitaine:
There'll be pork in the treetops come morning.

The Lion in Winter is one of my favorite movies, second only to Inherit the Wind.
