(63,372 posts)... it's out of your hands past being a loving and supporting family member. Some times it requires for our own health to step back, and let the system and further treatment do their work.
We can only save those who want being saved. My thoughts are for you and your sister. She has a support system: you, her boyfriend, the state.
Be sure to shore up your own support system. Bless you for being a loving sib in a very tough circumstance.

(3,726 posts)I believe drug addicts are Highly Sensitive People who have a difficult time coping with the harshness of this world. I envisioned my son surrounded by angels during his long struggle, they took him home. He is in serenity now.
Be nurturing to yourself, try not to hold guilt or blame, put fear back in its proper role as a warning system so it doesn't envelope you. Much compassion to you

(7,054 posts)My brother disappeared in the mid-late 70s and we've always suspected drugs were involved. Part of me has always wanted to know what happened, but another part... the thought of watching the descent... not sure I could bear it. He would be 74 now.
