the phone. they told me that all SS checks are and have always been a month behind. So when I get DD at the bank. in December it was the November check, January check was for December and January check will be in my DD at the bank in February. In case of the 16th landing on the week end , the bank will post a pending and it will be deposited. They do the same for my pension. She wouldn't tell me why it is a month behind. I assumed if the check came in March , that it was the March check ---it is the February check. Federal budget is a month behind.

because my deceased husband worked for the VA long enough to earn a CSA pension.
It is direct deposited on the 1st of the month, unless the first falls on a weekend like February just did. I was anxious all weekend. When I did see it hit on Monday, I was astonished to see it was less than the amount in January. Turned out the new health care premium for my Medicare supplemental policy (BCBS Federal) paid by the benefit had eaten up all but $5.95 of the COLA. Indeed, the premium had increased by $50.! WTF?
So the fascists have already found a way to milk federal benefits for the corporations, in this case, an insurance company.
