Sometimes things in our culture about products come and go

that were unique in their time but are forgotten when the company moves along to presenting the product differently. The example I like to use is Subway. Those shops are all over like berries on the bush and the $5 foot long disappeared long ago. But there was that "other" thing about a Subway sandwich that is mostly forgotten and many younger people have no idea even existed.

The trench in the bread instead of the bread being sliced from one side. I remember how great it was that they cut out the trench, loaded in the fixings and then mashed the trench back on top. I could drive down the road with that sub in one hand and not worry about losing anything or making a mess.

I'm also remembering when sub shops had warm walnut brownies.

But these things are forgotten and maybe those memories of things are just vapor in the air anymore.
