The Sonoran Desert, Arizona, stretches out over nearly 100,000 square miles.
The desert is the hottest in North America but due to the high levels of rainfall compared to other deserts it manages to maintain plant life.

(96,555 posts)It's been years since I've been to that desert but I can still smell the fresh morning air and the sweet scent of cactus blooms.
The most delicate and beautiful cactus, to me, is the ocotillo.
