In honor of debm55 questions of this style.
My favorite, hands down is Potato Cakes from Arby's. Onion Rings from Burger King a distant second.

(6,634 posts)'loaded hash browns'. Had ham, cheese, and probably onions and bell peppers, if I recall correctly. It's been years since I was in one, although there's one not very far from my house.

(920 posts)Wendy's Baked Potatoes. Inexpensive and filling. I also like sweet potato fries when I can find them.

(6,617 posts)Sorry Catbyte, couldn't resist.
I like them, too. For a fast food place, their fish and chips can't be beat.

(596 posts)you can get at the state fair!😀 The only fast food fries I didnt care much for were at In n Out. They were so dry. I did try the animal fries there which are covered in cheese sauce and grilled onions which vastly improved the situation.

(19,572 posts)mashed potatoes. The easy way out: just dump 'em into a food processor and whip them to within an inch of their lives. Why do people insist on destroying potatoes like this? It doesn't have to be this way. Put a little effort into it and make real ones.
Real mashed potatoes must have chunks in them and be able to stand up on their own and support a fork or spoon in them.
This lame, grits-consistency trend in mashed potatoes must be stamped out!
But in answer to your question: Home fries loaded with onions, garlic, and whatever else, with hand-grated (not pre-grated from a bag) cheese or cream cheese & chopped chives on top.

(6,617 posts)add lots of butter, sour cream and half and half with pepper. See, they're healthy, no salt!!

(77,280 posts)If I have the option, I almost always choose the rice pilaf.
If rice isn't an alternative, I choose based on the entrée. Steak is probably fries, preferably steak fries.
My wife is the potato nut in our house; not me.
