Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because.

Fedora man unmasked: Meet the teen behind the Louvre mystery photo

PARIS — When 15-year-old Pedro Elias Garzon Delvaux realized an Associated Press photo of him at the Louvre on the day of the crown jewels heist had drawn millions of views, his first instinct was not to rush online and unmask himself.

Quite the opposite. A fan of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot who lives with his parents and grandfather in Rambouillet, 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Paris, Pedro decided to play along with the world's suspense.

As theories swirled about the sharply dressed stranger in the "Fedora Man" shot — detective, insider, AI fake — he decided to stay silent and watch. … "I didn't want to say immediately it was me," he said. "With this photo there is a mystery, so you have to make it last."

For his only in-person interview since that snap turned him into an international curiosity, he appeared for the AP cameras at his home much as he did that Sunday: in a fedora hat, Yves Saint Laurent waistcoat borrowed from his father, jacket chosen by his mother, neat tie, Tommy Hilfiger trousers and a restored, war-battered Russian watch.

I think about 50% of American men could stand to soak up some inspiration when it comes to their sartorial choices..

One thing I love about old films and photos is how wonderfully everyone is dressed, no matter who. A whole different culture.

…that hang to mid-calf, giant sloppy T-shirts, and Crocs or grungy athletic shoes.

When I see a man in nice trousers, a shirt with a collar, and polished leather shoes, I usually assume he’s from Europe.

Have had 6 or 8 of them. Different colors, different fabrics, one was even wicker.
Still have a couple.
I think I was supposed to live in the 40s.

Actually, most mine were new, though my wife's friend on the north side of Chicago had a boyfriend that owned a vintage clothing store.
I got one of those hats & a 1930s tail coat that i wore when the band played NYE. Sort of "Huy Lombardo from hell" look.
If I lived much closer, I probably would have bought lots of stuff from him.
