(23,095 posts)I knew this band's former manager when he was a little boy, back in the 80s. The kid was a riot.
So when he grew up and became their manager, I got interested in this band.

(103,817 posts)Utoob does it every couple days to me. Sometimes it goes away in an hour other times several hours. What pisses me off is that I can't watch on the platform either. Glad I don't subscribe to any of that crap. I'll watch what is there but I won't be signing in to anything other than DU and my email.

(23,095 posts)If they disliked a particular audience (like at a festival where many bands were also playing), they would play it as a "penalty".
Of course, they also played it when they liked the audience as well.

(6,712 posts)Especially if they were passing the bottle of Jack around.
I got to meet them at my 2nd show in Orlando 1998. Gene complimented my Jerry Garcia shirt and played 'Friend of the Devil' that night. Was fantastic. Such friendly guys.

I miss those dudes.

(23,095 posts)I think that when Aaron Freeman was younger, he had one of the best voices around. (I'm thinking of The Argus here).
I don't know how I found Ween, but they kind of changed my life. Their humor is incredible. I would LOVE to meet those guys, I'm glad you had the chance to. I miss them too, and I hope Mickey is getting healthy.
I'm big a Deadhead too!
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
