Every time one of our dogs has passed within 6 week we adopt another one. The missing of the previous dog never goes away but the joy the new dog brings makes life enjoyable again.

Dogs are amazing.

…starting at age 5.

When I’ve lost one, I seldom wait very long before adopting a successor. It gives the love that is still there a place to attach. It doesn’t feel disloyal. There’s always someone who needs a home.
