I love Zeppelin's acoustic stuff.
Somewhere in the house I've gir a bootleg cassette of Heart doing an entire set of LZ. Wish I could find it! I remember it being really good.
Jimmy is using double drop tuning here, where both E strings are downtuned to D.
While I was listening I grabbed my mandolin to play what JPJ was doing. Very cool.

That’s interesting about Jimmy did with tuning his guitar. Did he do that often, do you know? I have heard of other musicians using special guitar tuning. Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls comes to mind.

In my humble opinion… Heart is the only other band I’ve heard who does a very good Zeppelin cover. No one else comes close.

Page used a lot of alternate tunings.
He used DADGAD a lot, a lot of open G, he used C6 tuning on Bron-Yr-Aur (I play this one so I know that tuning) open F on Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp & so on.
Aside from open D, he didn't do a whole bunch of modified tuning on electric, but on acoustic it was open season.
I have a 12 string I keep in open D all the time.
So, players like Page has made me mess with it, too.
