it was kind of 'Karate Kid' but set in the San Fernando Valley when there was a rash of white suburban gangs. The single-parent mother had expectations that were 1950s but her son was trying to navigate the violence of the early 1980s. He keeps her in the dark about what he is going through until he can't. It was decent.

Love the synth pad stuff at 2:37
