Related: About this forumOK, so here's another white faced capuchin shot.....
....and on this one I was able to move back far enough to not crop off his/her toes on a landscape shot and then I cropped the image in post production as if it were a portrait aspect shot. the problem with doing this is that you start to cut resolution from the image. luckily it's a 46MP sensor so it's not as big of a problem as it could be. that said, much better to turn the camera sideways and grab the shot. I couldn't, as I had the camera on a gimbal tripod head.

here is the post with the same subject shot from a closer distance in landscape aspect and little to no cropping:

(10,129 posts)i dunno why, but this shot didn't seem to get much engagement. i think folks are getting sick of my monkey shots. i need to find new subjects.

(10,129 posts)....and, you're right....i need to start photographing a wider range of subjects like i used to.
it's dry season right now, so there isn't a lot of activity from the frogs. in a couple months, it should pick up again.
i think lately, i've only been shooting during the day and i'm usually working in my home office and i only run out with a camera when i hear a commotion around the house, and the commotion is always monkeys.
