Alix Didier Fils-Aimé
Prime Minister of Haiti
Haiti, just miles off the coast of Florida, has been ravaged by gang violence for the past five years. Murders, kidnappings and sexual violence are commonplace. Gangs control a staggering 75 percent of the capital, Port-au-Prince — although the figure has come down 15 percent, according to the country’s leader, as his government slowly recovers land and control. Now, with foreign boots on the ground, a U.N.-backed multinational effort known as the Gang Suppression Force is being activated in a bid to reinstate law and order. But it’s a complex situation that has been compounded by economic instability, the COVID-19 pandemic and extreme weather crises. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé joins Christiane from Port-au-Prince.

Natalie Livingstone
Author, “The Nuremberg Women”
The Nuremberg trials were held after World War II for the purpose of bringing Nazi officials to justice for their crimes in the Holocaust. It is a well-known and documented part of history, yet a vital piece of the story has been missing all these years. In her new book “The Nuremberg Women,” best-selling author Natalie Livingstone puts the spotlight on the untold stories of eight women who helped shape justice in postwar Germany — from prosecutors and journalists to aristocrats and rebels. The author joins Christiane in London to discuss the trailblazers that inspired her.

Sarah Isgur
Attorney/Author, “Last Branch Standing”
Of the nine sitting Supreme Court justices, six were appointed by Republican presidents and three by Democrats. Since Trump 2.0, the Court has handed down several high-profile and controversial decisions. The rollback of women’s rights and abortion access continues to reverberate after the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Trump v. United States, the ruling that former presidents are entitled to some degree of immunity from criminal prosecution, was met with public outcry. Attorney Sarah Isgur, a former Justice Department spokesperson, says there’s a lot we get wrong about the Court. Isgur attempts to bust myths and misconceptions in her book “Last Branch Standing.” The author speaks with Walter Isaacson about looking beyond partisan politics and finding solutions for a Court in crisis.
