Beyond the 6-3 Divide: Why the Supreme Court Is the Last Branch Standing
Of the nine sitting Supreme Court justices, six were appointed by Republican presidents and three by Democrats. Since Trump 2.0, the Court has handed down several high-profile and controversial decisions. The rollback of womens rights and abortion access continues to reverberate after the reversal of Roe v. Wade. Trump v. United States, the ruling that former presidents are entitled to some degree of immunity from criminal prosecution, was met with public outcry. Attorney Sarah Isgur, a former Justice Department spokesperson, says theres a lot we get wrong about the Court. Isgur attempts to bust myths and misconceptions in her book Last Branch Standing. The author speaks with Walter Isaacson about looking beyond partisan politics and finding solutions for a Court in crisis.
