(6,620 posts)Some Christians believe the image is an accurate representation of history.
This reminds me of my friends fanaticle Seventh Day Adventist sister. She claimed man was here first then created Dinosaurs and left then came back and destroyed them.
All I can do is laugh, shake my head, and roll my eyes.

(61,318 posts)Had a very religious, bereaved client come in who thought she was "crazy" because she could feel and hear her departed loved one around her after the departed's death.
She felt "very guilty because the Bible doesn't talk about dinosaurs." (Most common effect.)
Not wanting to denigrate her beliefs, I simply said, "Well, have you ever been to the Natural History Museum in Chicago?"
She nodded yes.
I asked her if she saw the huge dino skeletons.
Again she affirmed.
So, I told her, "Well, maybe the Bible just didn't go there."
The relief was palpable. Someone gave her permission to think for herself.
Cripes... Maddening.

(6,620 posts)Then "Christians Against Dinosaurs" would realize that a subset of dinosaurs still exist today and are all around us.
They're called "birds".
I've been to the Field Museum in Chicago, as well as many others. At the Field, they have the incredible T-Rex fossil, "Sue". Absolutely amazing specimen. All one has to do is look at Sue's 3 pronged feet, and compare that to modern birds feet. The resemblance is uncanny.
EVIDENCE that dinosaurs existed and evolution is a fact. Not complete evidence, but another data point in the MOUNTAIN of evidence for evolution and fossil record of extinct species.
If the "Christians Against Dinosaurs" crowd would pull their heads out of their Buybull ass, and read a scientific journal once in a while, maybe, just maybe we wouldn't have to deal with so many FUCKING IMBECILES.
