BOSTON (CBS) Beverly Scott is resigning as MBTA general manager, the transportation agency said Wednesday afternoon.
The MBTA had suspended rail service Monday night and Tuesday to clear snow from its tracks amid a record-setting period of snowfall in the Boston area. Gov. Charlie Baker and others had criticized the MBTA for its lackluster performance during the extreme snow and cold.
Scott said in a letter that her resignation will take effect on April 11.
Please consider this my letter of resignation as the MBTA General Manager and Rail & Transit Administrator, effective April 11, 2015, she wrote. Thank you and the entire MassDOT Board for your confidence and support.

They funny thing is that some want to assign the blame to her for not clearing the tracks, with pretty much unprecedented snowfall and antiquated trains, but Baker can call for help from the National Guard and the local community for anybody with equipment to help with snow removal.

According to the National Weather Service, the 64.4 inches of snow Boston received in the past two weeks has set an all-time 14-day record. The Commonwealth remains in a state of emergency, and more snow is expected later this week.
It took me 2hrs 20 minutes to get in to work today. I know some people that took nearly twice that long to do the same.

He has NEVER met her, never called her, nada-nuthin'-zip.
She had enough--she just said "Talk to the hand." Can't get blood out of a stone, after all. She was in a Churchillian "Give us the tools" type situation. NO trains would have been running if she hadn't borrowed that jet thing to clear the third rail from NYC.
