JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A state senator in Mississippi has filed a bill entitled the Contraception Begins at Erection Act.
As written by Sen. Bradford Blackmon, the bill would make it unlawful for a person to discharge genetic material without the intent to fertilize an embryo. There are also fines involved, the third strike resulting in the loss of $10,000 from the perpetrator.
In a statement to WLBT News, Blackmon wrote, All across the country, especially here in Mississippi, the vast majority of bills relating to contraception and/or abortion focus on the womans role when men are fifty percent of the equation.
This bill highlights that fact and brings the mans role into the conversation. People can get up in arms and call it absurd but I cant say that bothers me.

A brilliant way to ridicule the other side! It's making headlines... but will it make a difference?

(1,140 posts)1. Pass a law that says if you fertilize an egg, your wages will be garnished for the next 21 years.
A simple DNA test will determine if you are the father. If you have impregnated a 12 year old, she obviously can't work, so you must support that child too. If the 12 year old is your daughter, you must pay for her support outside of your home.
Somehow I don't think this bill will pass and you'd have to put every man on the honor system to get them toA turn themselves in. But what a money maker for the state! It is hard to believe this is a proposal in 2025.
