Montana voters to decide school levies in May 5 election

MISSOULA, Mont. — Ballots are hitting mailboxes across Montana ahead of the May 5 school and special district election.

More than 50 school levies are on the ballot statewide, with several districts asking voters to approve funding of $1 million or more.

In Kalispell, the school district is requesting just over $1.1 million for an elementary levy to support day-to-day operations, including salaries, utilities, and classroom materials. The district’s last levy passed in 2023.

In Bozeman, voters are considering a $1.2 million elementary levy aimed at addressing hiring and retention challenges, as well as a $600,000 high school levy.
