Rochester Councilmember Willie Lightfoot will not seek re-election
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rochester Councilmember Willie Lightfoot, Sr. announced Monday that he will not seek re-election this fall.
The councilor-at-large was elected in 2017 and again in 2021. Lightfoot’s term ends on December 31, 2025.
Lightfoot, a business owner, minister and former city firefighter, also served several terms on the Monroe County Legislature.
“Working through the ministry and also as an employer seems a natural extension of that service and I look forward to keeping the Lightfoot family tradition of helping to better the quality life of others and contributing positively to our city through my work in the church, as a neighbor and a small business owner,” Lightfoot said in a statement.
