Texans will be able to cast their ballots starting on Monday in early voting. Polling so far shows Democrats ahead in the county.

How much the electric reliability will affect state wide? Will other areas affected by it remember the failures we’ve had?

I doubt that it's on many voters' minds at all in 2024. Voter memories are short. It's been 3.5 years and there have been few weather-related outages of any significant scope since in TX and nothing even in the ballpark of the 2021 storm.

What many don't understand is that event was literally a perfect storm, record snow, record low temperatures for days, record size and scope, etc. It was essentially a 500-year event, though climate change may make them more frequent.

It would take an event of similar scale to generate similar issues, even with the GOP blocking measures to improve the grid. Chances of a similar event are extremely low, which is what they're banking on.
