Texas Cheerleader (17) Charged with Animal Cruelty for Fatally Poisoning Rival's Show Goat

Aubrey Vanlandingham (Photo: Williamson County Sheriff's Office)

Texas HS cheerleader Aubrey Vanlandingham (17) is facing felony charges after allegedly using pesticide to poison and kill a rival’s competitive show goat at their high school in an ugly show of “jealousy.” [The word should be "envy.]"

Security footage obtained by police showed a female student at the Vista Ridge High School’s barn facility using a drench gun to force-feed Willy a toxic pesticide. The 6-month-old goat didn’t go easy and tried to escape, but was ultimately trapped and forced to drink the pesticide.

Vanlandingham was arrested on 22 Nov and charged with cruelty to livestock animals, a felony in Texas. She was released the same day on a $5,000 bond.

If convicted, Vanlandingham could face up to two years in prison. She has been banned from attending her high school while the case is ongoing and her next court appearance is 15 Jan 2025.

Below is a screenshot from a past Texas State Fair.

Williamson County has a population of 609,017 people; median household income = $110,415.00

Unbelievably, this young lady flushed her life away and painfully killed an innocent and defenseless animal. Instead of state college, Aubrey Vanlandingham is looking at state prison. After Aubrey is released, what university would accept her, who would marry her, and who would ever hire her-- the internet and her reputation are forever.

Migrants are a threat to the Lone Star State?

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

My son won "best in show" at one of these for his drip irrigation system.

Lots of scholarship money is involved. You don't need be rural to raise livestock either. The school district has a barn where you go every day to feed your animal (s).
The junior livestock show is held the last week of December. That's where my son competed.

The rodeo begins around Feb 1st and runs for three weeks. The rodeo is extremely competitive.

Heck my seven year old daughter won a 4 H prize for doll making one year. Another one of my kids made bread, but didn't place.

5. I never understood how the ones who raised animals could spend all that time with them

and then sell them off for slaughter. And yes, I understand how hamburgers wind up on my plate, but most cattle are not individually cared for like the animals raised by Ag students.

sociopath/narcissism (sound like anyone we know?)

"Despite her crowning as president of her school’s chapter of the national livestock competition organization, Vanlandingham was still jealous of her younger competitor, according to the girl’s mom.

“She’s saying it’s because of cheating. But from what we’ve deciphered, she was just really jealous,” the 15-year-old’s mother told the Daily Mail.

“You can’t even cheat when it comes to showing goats,” she added. “It makes no sense, so that’s where the jealousy really kind of falls into place.”

that's really fucked up.

Something else the resident DU Texas-haters can latch on to, to accuse the entire population of the state of being psycho animal killers.

And if you think I'm exaggerating, you haven't been here very long.

(No one was murdered or even hurt. Wanda Holloway was found guilty of conspiring to murder the mother of her daughter's cheerleading rival) It made tons of tabloid fodder. Shortly after her conviction, they found one of the jurors had lied about his criminal past, so the case was tossed. She had another trial and served 6 months in prison.

According to the affidavit, the 17-year-old also searched how much bleach could kill a goat and how to clear her search history.

I guess Aubrey didn't realize that she threw her life away at the time of her arrest.
