A Democrat is running in every state and federal race on the Texas ballot next year, the first time in modern state history that either party has fielded a full slate of candidates, according to the Texas Democratic Party.
The complete field is the result of a recruitment campaign run by a network of the states top Democratic groups and politicians, including Texas Majority PAC, the Texas Democratic Party, former U.S. Rep. Beto ORourke and former state Sen. Wendy Davis.
Together, the groups recruited 104 candidates to fill every congressional, state House and state Senate seat up for election in 2026. The effort also ensured that a Democrat is running in every statewide judicial and State Board of Education race.
No Republican gets a free ride in Texas, Texas Democratic Party Chair Kendall Scudder said in an interview. If you are a Republican and you want to hold public office in this state, youre going to have to fight us for it.

(9,734 posts)Every. Single. Race. In every single district in this country, needs to have a Democrat on the ballot! We will NEVER turn this country around if we don't start getting our values some publicity, and the way to do that is by running a good candidate in every race, who will tell our side of the story!
The 96% republican owned media in this country has held the high ground in propaganda for 45 years. That's why people have been too stupid, and keep voting for the person the media is pumping up. Plus, all the billionaires have fielded their candidates.
This is definitely how we fight back!

(4,010 posts)I'm proud of the Dems, quite the accomplishment with so many structural advantages favoring Republicans. Every candidate will bring out many more voters than otherwise would have turned out, and those numbers will add up.
Who knows, maybe we win one or more statewide races? A girl can dream!
