The Snohomish County solid waste voucher program has been extended

EVERETT — Snohomish County residents can continue to dispose of flood-damaged household items for free at county solid waste facilities through its flood voucher program, a press release said.

The county’s solid waste voucher program was extended through March 19 after previously being authorized through Sunday.

County code authorizes the program during a state of emergency when safe and rapid garbage removal would help maintain public health and safety. The vouchers apply only to Snohomish County households impacted by the December 2025 flooding and do not apply to businesses.

Residents do not need to present formal documentation or proof of damage to receive a voucher. Officials will record addresses at the time of redemption for reporting and evaluation. Customers need one voucher per load but may bring multiple loads. The vouchers list acceptable flood-damaged household materials, other restrictions and drop-off locations.
