Seattle mayor's election campaign fined for not reporting $10K in donations from parents
SEATTLE Seattle mayor Katie Wilsons election campaign has been fined $250 by the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission for failing to initially report $10,000 in campaign-related childcare expenses, according to a letter from the campaign.
The commission found that the Wilson for Mayor campaign did not properly disclose the expenses, which were paid through in-kind contributions from Wilsons parents to cover childcare costs during the campaign.
Under Seattles election laws, such contributions must be reported and are subject to contribution limits.
The campaign later refunded the portion of the childcare expenses that exceeded allowable contribution limits and amended its disclosures to report the costs accurately, the letter states
