Everett shares new details on site plan for AquaSox stadium

A new preliminary site map for Everett's planned $120 million outdoor stadium, the future home of the AquaSox, surfaced Friday.
The city posted an aerial view of the proposed Everett Outdoor Event Center site, and the map includes the stadium blueprint, public plazas and entrances along Broadway and pedestrian connections.
Stadium plans include 5,000 seats, and the venue will host baseball games and soccer matches. The Everett AquaSox, a minor league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, and the United Soccer League have approved 30-year leases at the yet-to-be-built stadium and committed $17 million to support the project.
The AquaSox have been based in Everett since 1984 and need to find a new venue that meets Major League Baseballs updated standards for minor league facilities. The team's current home stadium, Funko Field, does not meet the standards passed by MLB in 2021, and the team pays a fine each year it violates those rules.
